ISKGA status: Registered Guide
Michael is an instructor and member of the Executive Board of Neptun Kajakk, a company in the outskirts of the city Stavanger on the southwestern coast of Norway.
Neptun Kajakk (www.neptunkajakk.no) specialises in providing courses and guided tours along the Norwegian coastline. Part of our philosophy is that with the right skills, behaviours and attitudes kayaking can be a year-round activity, even in country like Norway.
Michael is trained to the level of “Aktivitetsleder” with the Norwegian Paddling Union (www.padling.no ) and holds a BCU 3* award.
Main interests are: Skills development, kayak-surfing, rockhopping and safety drills.
Professionally, Michael is working in the area of developing and disseminating courses in First Aid, Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support in collaboration with Norwegian and overseas NGO’s in field of acute and emergency healthcare. This competence is actively used to develop courses specifically for kayaking in the area of First Aid, CPR, etc.
Michael’s educational background is within Educational Research and Pedagogy. Again, this knowledge is put to use to ensure that Neptun Kajakk is providing courses to the highest educational standards.
With a background as an Officer from the Norwegian Recon Forces, Michael has experience with survival training, especially in cold climate conditions.
