Joe Oesterling

Joe is the owner of SEAK Expeditions LLC: A company providing sea kayaking equipment, expedition outfitting and professional guide services in South East Alaska. Joe grew up in Michigan, on the shores of the great lakes, here he was provided with a great beginning in paddling sea kayaks as well as surf kayaks.

He has spent many years traveling through out North and South America, paddling, alpine climbing and skiing, eventually his adventures brought him to Alaska in 2010 where he has since made his home.

In addition to Joe's passion for paddling he has also been a trainer and SAR dog handler for SEADOGS (South East Alaska Dogs Organised for Ground Search) a K9 search and rescue team based in Juneau, Alaska for the last 10 years, actively being deployed on SAR missions around the state of Alaska.

Joe is a Search and Rescue Technician - SAR Tech certified through NASAR, holds a 50 ton Masters Commercial Captains License with the USCG and runs a water taxi/boat support out of Haines, Alaska.
