About This Guide

Craig’s connection to the ocean began early, learning to sail at a young age in the Solent and spending much of his youth on the water.

He went on to follow the RYA youth pathways across various dinghy classes, competing internationally and representing GBR at numerous World and European Championships.

Over time, Craig felt drawn away from competitive sailing, yearning for something that offered a deeper, more immersive connection to the seascape. This shift led to years of surf trips and offshore yacht sailing.

After moving to the Orkney Islands in 2021, Craig dived straight into sea kayaking. Building on a strong foundation of seamanship through both sailing and surfing, he quickly developed his kayaking skills in the dynamic waters around the islands—an environment he has come to know intimately.

Since then, Craig has continued to grow as both a paddler and a guide, exploring waters across Scotland and as far afield as Norway.

As a guide, Craig is grounded in a deep passion for connecting with the natural environment of the ocean and believes in the positive impact that comes from experiencing and learning within it.

His mission is to share this connection with others—while also pursuing bold ocean adventures of his own. He is currently preparing for a transatlantic sailing crossing in November 2025 and looking ahead to ambitious sea kayaking expeditions in the years to come.
