Michael Gray

Michael Gray is the owner and founder of Uncommon Adventures and has been professionally employed as a sea kayak guide and instructor for over 30 years. He has extensive experience with his home waters of the Great Lakes, the Florida Everglades (60 trips), Alaska (12 trips) and has also led overseas expeditions to New Zealand (6 trips), Belize (4), Honduras (60), Panama, Argentina, Iceland and Greenland (2).

Michael has received formal coach training under the NZCA, the old BCU system, the American Canoe Association and the current BCU. Living and working in the US makes it cost prohibitive to progress through the BCU coaching scheme, so I’m currently BCU Coach level one and I am a Level 4 ACA Coastal Instructor and Level 3 Instructor Trainer.
