About This Guide
Pat Rodgers runs H2O Sea Kayaking on Sherkin Island in the South West of Ireland. He's been paddling for almost 40 years, on rivers all around Ireland, surfing on breaks and beaches of the west coast and sea kayaking anywhere he could - culminating in a (mostly) solo circumnavigation of Ireland many moons ago. He worked as an instructor in many Adventure Centres around the country teaching kayaking as well as sailing, windsurfing, rock climbing & mountaineering. In 2000 he went back to University to get an engineering degree and a “grown up” job while following his sporting passions and setting his own personal challenges in multi-day adventure races (ITERA, The Beast), ultra marathons (The Spine Race, UTMB, Kerry Way Ultra), an Ironman distance triathlon as well as setting a record time for the descent of the river Shannon (245km in 46.5 hours), since beaten. 2021 saw Pat move to Sherkin Island and take over H2O Sea Kayaking where he’s been running sea kayaking tours and training sessions ever since. In 2023 Pat and his wife Tina circumnavigated Corsica and they are currently trying to decide where their next expedition will take them.
